ATTENTION ALL TEXAS OB/GYN RESIDENCY TRAINING PROGRAMS AND TEXAS JUNIOR FELLOWS
The 18th Annual TAOG and Texas Section Junior Fellow Research Symposium will be held on FRIDAY, APRIL 16, 2010. The Research Symposium is sponsored by TAOG at the 81st Annual Joint Meeting of the Texas Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and ACOG District XI, which will be held on April 16-18, 2010, at the Moody Gardens Hotel and Resort, Seven Hope Blvd, Galveston, Texas.
Funding is available for TWO (2) residents from each of the Texas Ob/Gyn Residency Programs. Residents will attend all three days of the Annual TAOG Meeting (April 16-17-18, 2010).
Sponsorship Funding for Residents Includes:
• Hotel Accommodations at the Moody Gardens Hotel – 3 night maximum
o Hotel Room will be charged on the TAOG master account (complete registration and hotel info form attached)
• Travel Expenses per ACOG District XI travel guidelines
• Includes Continental breakfast on Friday and Saturday, District XI ACOG Breakfast on Sunday, and Lunch at the Research Day Meeting (Friday) and the TAOG Business Meeting (Saturday), and the Annual Banquet on Friday evening (Spouse/guest charge will be extra)
The Resident Research Day Program was established to allow Texas Residents an opportunity to gain experience presenting papers, to answer questions in front of their peers and to meet their colleagues from other Texas Programs. Although only two residents can be sponsored by TAOG, all residents are welcome to attend. Programs may provide funding to send additional residents to present papers at their discretion.
The format for the meeting will be 10 minute PowerPoint presentations followed by 5 minute discussions for each presenter. Residents should submit their typed abstract by March 26, 2010 to the address listed on the enclosed abstract form. There is also a registration form for the meeting and the hotel accommodations.
It is not required that the residents be presenting a paper to be sponsored. We encourage each program to select their two sponsored residents, even if they are not presenting. It is important to note that this is not an exclusive meeting. Papers that have been presented at other meetings or will be presented at future meetings can be submitted for presentation.
The three winning papers will be presented as part of the Annual Scientific Meeting on Saturday, April 17th at 10:15 am and given special recognition. A small monetary award is given for the final winners.
